Class Descriptions
BASICS : Monday @ 12:00noon
Practice all the basic postures of yoga while mindfully connecting with breath and intention.
All levels.
CHAIR YOGA : Tuesday @ 11:30am and Thursday @ 11:30am
A gentle yoga for folks who can not stand for long periods of time and need the support of a chair. Sometimes in life we need to take a seat and enjoy yoga.
CORE AND ALIGN YOGA : Friday @ 5:45pm
Your core is where your center of gravity originates. Using core strength allows you to move into yoga poses with ease and grace. This class is designed to create the alignment and extension necessary to build a beautiful practice. This is an inversion-free class (no handstands, no headstands). Props are generally not used but are available, if necessary. Modification cues are provided so that each student can benefit from the entire practice.
ESSENTIAL YOGA : Tuesday @ 10:00am, Thursday @ 10:00am, Saturday @ 10:00am, Sunday @ 11:00am
The foundation of any practice includes the essential elements of yoga. A regular practice of the basics in yoga is necessary to move into more advanced classes. Learn all the correct postures and terminology to build a firm foundation and challenge you to stay the course. All levels.
HATHA Yoga Flow : Wednesday @ 9:30 am
Hatha yoga is the foundation yoga of most of the teachers at Oceanfront yoga. It is the King's yoga better known for its active and refreshing class structure and its development of physical and mental strength. Held in a natural temperature room. Intermediate.
JUST STRETCH : Monday @ 5:45pm
Maintain balance to your daily activities by "just stretching". All stretches derive from yoga, but this class focuses on the muscle groups which take the most abuse, such as shoulders, hips, legs and back. This is a very casual setting for athletes or anyone who wants to begin a yoga practice without intimidation. Poses are held for a lengthy, rejuvenating time. All levels are welcome.
MEN’S YOGA : Monday @ 6:30am
Join the men’s group on Monday am for yoga which suits men.
OCEAN FLOW (Level II Vinyasa) : Sunday @ 9:30am
Come enjoy the beauty of the ocean using your oceanic breath during this challenging sequencing of postures. Participants should have had experience with challenging yoga for a minimum of 6 months. Intermediate to Advanced only please.
PILATES : Tuesday @ 9am, Thursday @ 9am
Strengthen the core and align the spine with pilates, one of the most popular forms of exercise today. Students will enjoy a multilevel practice. All levels.
SHANTI YOGA with Rachel : Tuesday @ 6:30 pm
Shanti Yoga is a dramatically different style of yoga. It provides a very fine synthesis of the principles, practices and path of yoga as it is, free from the bonds of a specific tradition. It is the most clear and concise practice of Yoga for a Western audience. Intermediate.
SHIVA YOGA : Wednesday @ 5:45 pm
Join Connie in Shiva Yoga learning to stitch your yoga practice slowly from one level to another through grace and alignment from within. Let the fear of moving forward disappear as you transform your basic practice into an intermediate one. Intermediate.
SLOW YOGA FlOW : Monday @ 9:30 am
All Levels.
SUN SALUTATIONS : Wednesday @ 6:30am
As we look out at the beautiful ocean full of life, we greet the morning by beginning our practice with sun salutations in celebration of a new day. All Levels.
TRANQUIL YOGA : Friday @ 12:00 Noon
Tranquil Yoga is a gentle series of mostly seated postures held for an extended period to promote healing and rejuvenation to the spine and joints.
VINYASA : Monday @ 7:00 pm
If you are interested in deepening your practice doing more advanced poses with guidance, you will enjoy this flow class. All participants will sweat and feel challenged through a combination of asana.
WARM HATHA FLOW : Friday @ 9:30am
Sometimes the time works but not the level of yoga. For that reason, in this class, we give instruction for all levels present and gear the practice to suit everyone. Practice in a reasonably heated room. All levels.
YOGA - Open Levels with June : Thursday @ 6:30 pm
All levels.
Specialty Classes
ALL 4 YOGA :
This series of classes is designed specifically for 4 year old yogis and yoginis! Children will explore yoga poses through creative play, cooperative games, stories, music and puppets. Simple breathing and relaxation exercises will also be introduced. All 4 yoga promotes coordination and self-expression in a fun, caring environment. Ages: 4 years

BOARDWALK CLASSES : seasonal
May through September; Oceanfront Fitness & Yoga will offer group fitness and yoga classes up and down the boardwalk in 4 locations. Inquire at the studio for more information.
FAMILY YOGA :
Sunny Skies Yoga is thrilled to present a new event---family yoga. Come and see what amazing things your kids do when they attend a Sunny Skies Yoga class. If you are new to Sunny Skies Yoga classes, this event is a unique way to connect with your child. The class will focus on yoga poses and games with a particular emphasis on partner poses. Each child will need to be accompanied by one parent.

INTENSIVE PRACTICE : by appointment
If you would like to learn more about yoga or simply deepen your practice by practicing more hours at a time, you can join the “teachers in training “classes and pay per hour without signing up for the full teacher training. The training classes are generally held on Friday, Saturday and/Sunday. Inquire at the front desk as to the times and fees.
JAMMIE YOGA : Friday, November 18 @ 6:45 PM

KID'S YOGA :
Students will explore a variety of yoga poses and flowing sequences, breathing and relaxation techniques, partner poses as well as creative yoga activities. Mommy/Daddy and Me Yoga (ages 18 mo.-2 1/2 years) Toddlers have vivid imaginations, an endless amount of energy and a love of learning. These attributes are utilized in this playful class to introduce toddlers to yoga. Parents and toddlers will enjoy yoga activities that focus on make-believe play, as well as music and stories.
