| The Owners of Oceanfront Fitness & Yoga, Connie Weisberg and Melanie Mochel, met each other while taking Yoga in the min 90s. They both became yoga students together at the International Yoga Institute, where they developed a strong bond during their intensive training. Their friendship continued to develop as they worked together in the original Yoga program at Wareing's Gym. The vision and creation of Oceanfront Fitness & Yoga is the result of their passion for wellness and giving the community a place to practice and grow. | |

| Marilyn Santiago Upon graduating college with a degree in languages, I decided to travel the world utilizing my skills in languages by living in various cultures around the world. Though the travels have taken me far and wide and have offered me a variety of life long experiences, I find no better joy than filling my free hours with surfing and enjoying nature at it's finest. Being a native of Puerto Rico, I learned early on the beauty of being outside in the sun which is one reason Virginia Beach became my current home a few years back. When I first experienced yoga, it was as familiar to me as riding the waves and my heart was filled with peace. Because of this innate feeling, I soon took up a steady practice and eventually earned my 200 hour certification from Oceanfront Yoga. One day, it is my hope to return to my native Puerto Rico and share my love of yoga in my home country. But in the meantime, the surf and yoga in Virginia Beach are home to me. |

| Emily Karen Wilson From the first time I was introduced to yoga in early 2006, I knew I had stumbled upon something that I would end up being madly passionate about both for myself and the benefits it creates in my own life, but also for the privelage to be able to teach and share those benefits in the lives of others.
After months of practice, in the Winter in 2007 I began my 200 hour teacher training at My Yoga Spirit. I completed my 200 certification in early 2008 and I continue to keep a regular practice. My rigorous teaching style reflects the practice that I enjoy the most: Alignment in each pose and breath combined with seamless fluid movement in between each asana (yoga pose) is combined in a way so that the whole body is reached in a full body awareness system. I continue to practice with several talented teachers to explore in-depth within the wisdom and benefits the practice of yoga can offer. I aim to share my experience with my students and I consider it a privilege to be able to teach while doing something I love. I am always looking for the next training or workshop in the process of developing as an experienced yogi, with the most recent ones being with Seane Korn’s Master Class and JivaMukti Yoga Teacher Eddie Teboul’s The Art of Adjustments Workshop. These experiences shape who I am as a teacher and impact my classes and teaching style. I aim to offer a teaching style that makes everyone comfortable at his or her own level that will allow for a long and sustainable injury free practice. Visit me online at yogilosophy.com! |

| Joanne Davlin I have been practicing yoga since 2005. I initially began to practice yoga because I had heard that it was a great workout and was looking to add something to my current exercise routine. After one class, I was hooked! I found that in addition to being a great physical workout, I simply loved the way that my mind felt both during and after practicing. As the stay-at-home mother of 2 teenagers, I was looking for a fulfilling part-time career that would give me both satisfaction and flexibility. After several years of thinking about enrolling in a teacher-training program, I signed up for a 4-month, 200-hour certification program through Yax Yoga Concepts, which I completed in December, 2010. Additionally, last winter I received a 50-hour Vinyasa (flow) certification, also through Yax Yoga Concepts. I am a registered yoga instructor through the Yoga Alliance. Sharing my yoga practice with students brings me much joy! I believe that everyone (both young and not so young) can benefit from even the most simple yoga posture. Yoga, in it's truest sense, joins both the body and mind. Finding a quiet moment on your yoga mat at the end of a yoga session can be one of the most rewarding moments of your life. I look foward to sharing my yoga practice with Members at the Club. I am also available for private lessons if you feel a bit shy. |
